While creating that next complex character or never-saw-it-coming plot twist is thrilling. P. J. finds teaching the craft as an adjunct college professor at Howard Community College the most rewarding. She’s always eager to share her journey in the publishing world in hopes of inspiring her students to realize their own dreams of becoming a published author.
“The Power of Three: Writing, Self-Publishing, and Marketing Your Fiction” will be a year-long series of courses presented by award-winning author P.J O’Dwyer. O’Dwyer is a published writer of suspense/mystery/romance novels, with her work appearing on television, radio and in newspaper articles.
She will take you through the process of writing fiction (Fall,) self-publishing your novel (Winter) and marketing your work effectively using various media (Spring.) These courses are designed for first-time writers who have an idea and for those wanting to complete and publish a current manuscript.
Each course is six weeks in duration, meeting once a week on Wednesdays from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Centennial High School in Ellicott City, Maryland. Registration is required through Howard Community College.
“The Power of Three series taught by P.J. O’Dwyer is by far the best course I’ve taken at HCC. As an aspiring writer determined to get published, P.J’s classes were an invaluable tool. The class exercises exposed both my strengths and weaknesses as a writer. P.J’s honest approach to the business side of publishing was a huge, and much needed, reality check. Her vast experiences in the field gave me many choices to choose from. With The Power of Three I now have the tools I need to realize my life-long dream.”–Recita Clemons
